Privacy Policy

How abtestwp.com collects and uses information. Last updated 15 September 2026.

This Privacy Policy explains how Simov Studio LTD, a company registered in Cyprus (“we”, “us”), handles information when you visit abtestwp.com or buy a licence for AB Test WP Pro. Simov Studio LTD is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. It covers this website only. How the AB Test WP plugin handles your visitors' data is described separately on our Plugin data page.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact details (such as your name and email) when you email support or fill in a form.
  • Your email address when you join the waitlist, together with the page you signed up from and, if you tick the optional box, your choice to also receive tips and product news.
  • Order and billing information when you purchase a licence - handled by our payment processor (see “Payments”).

Information collected automatically

  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) used for security and to keep the site running.
  • Usage measurement through Rybbit, which we host ourselves on our own infrastructure at ry.simov.co. It records the page you are on, the site that referred you, your browser language and your screen size. It sets no cookies and keeps a random id in your browser's local storage so a returning visit is not counted twice. No analytics company receives any of it, and it is never combined with your email address or an order.

2. How we use information

  • To provide and improve the website and our products.
  • To process orders, deliver licence keys, and provide updates and support.
  • To respond to enquiries and send service messages about your purchase.
  • To send the launch emails you asked for when joining the waitlist: one when the free plugin is listed on wordpress.org and one when Pro goes on sale. We confirm the address first by sending a link to click.
  • To send occasional A/B testing tips and product news, only if you ticked the optional box on the signup form. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw either consent at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.
  • To protect the site against abuse and to meet legal obligations.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (email updates and marketing), performance of a contract (processing your order and providing licence updates and support), our legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and improving our products), and legal obligation (retaining tax and accounting records).

3. Payments

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as Merchant of Record. They collect and process the billing information needed to take payment and handle applicable taxes. We don't store full payment-card details. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policy, which we link to at checkout.

4. The AB Test WP plugin

AB Test WP sets no cookies and never collects names, email addresses or IP addresses. It does generate a random id in the visitor's browser, stored in localStorage rather than a cookie, so the same person is counted once per test, and it records that id alongside each impression and conversion. Because a random id of that kind is an online identifier, treat it in your own privacy notice the way you treat other first-party analytics identifiers. Every row stays in your site's own database. The free plugin makes no calls to us at all. AB Test WP Pro sends your licence key and your site's domain to Dodo Payments to activate and re-check the licence, and its update check sends your licence key, activation id, site domain, an anonymous site id and your PHP and WordPress versions to abtestwp.com. Its optional AI features send admin-selected text (never visitor data) to the AI provider the site owner configures with their own API key. Full details are on the Plugin data page.

5. How we share information

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business (such as our payment processor, email, and hosting providers), when required by law, or as part of a business transfer. These providers are permitted to use the data only to provide their service to us. Waitlist signups are stored on this website and in Brevo, the email service we use to send the confirmation and update emails; Brevo processes them only on our instructions. We may also keep a copy in our own self-hosted CRM. Our usage measurement runs on our own infrastructure, so no analytics provider is involved.

6. Cookies

This website uses only the cookies needed to operate it, and no non-essential cookies. Our usage measurement (see “Information collected automatically”) sets no cookies either; it keeps a random id in your browser's local storage instead. You can clear that, and any cookies, through your browser settings for this site.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including order records we must retain for tax and accounting, then delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR/UK GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of marketing. To exercise any of these, contact us at [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; our supervisory authority is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Cyprus.

9. International transfers

We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. Children

The website and products are not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the “last updated” date.
